We're absolutely delighted to introduce something rather special to Collectable Figurines: a wonderful ensemble of Disney Traditions Muppet Show figurines, complete with their spectacular original theatre display.
And honestly? We think this might just be one of the most joyful collections we've ever had the pleasure of bringing together.

For generations, The Muppet Show has entertained audiences with its glorious combination of music, comedy, chaos and unforgettable characters.
Who could forget Kermit's attempts to keep everything running smoothly? Miss Piggy's unwavering belief that the entire world revolves around her? Animal's spectacular enthusiasm for the drums? Or Statler and Waldorf, who somehow managed to steal the show while complaining about it?
The genius of the Muppets was that they never needed to be perfect. In fact, quite the opposite.
They were eccentric, unpredictable, occasionally ridiculous and utterly lovable.
And somehow, Disney Traditions artist Jim Shore has captured that personality beautifully.

Our collection features five individual figurines, each bursting with the unmistakable character and intricate detailing that make Jim Shore's Disney Traditions creations so special.
🐸 Kermit the Frog: Find Your Rainbow Connection (4020800)
Every great show needs someone to hold it all together.
Enter Kermit, our beloved green leading man, sitting with his banjo and looking wonderfully optimistic about the chaos unfolding around him.
There's something particularly charming about this figurine. Kermit's familiar expression, his relaxed pose and the beautifully decorated base perfectly capture the gentler side of The Muppet Show.
He's the heart of the whole production.
💗 Miss Piggy: Dive? Moi? (4020801)
Darling, the star has arrived!
Never one to be overshadowed, Miss Piggy makes a suitably dramatic entrance in an elegant pink gown, complete with pearls, flowing feathers and a rose.
She's glamorous. She's theatrical. She's absolutely convinced she's the main attraction.
And frankly, who's going to argue with her?
The delicate detailing of her dress and the movement captured in her pose make this a particularly lovely piece.
🥁 Animal: Make Some Noise (4020807)
Subtlety has never been Animal's strong point.
And thank goodness for that!
With drumsticks raised, mouth wide open and an expression of pure, unrestrained enthusiasm, Animal looks ready to bring the entire theatre crashing down.
The sculpting is fantastic, from his wild purple fur and unmistakable eyebrows to the wonderfully detailed drum behind him.
He's loud, he's chaotic, and we wouldn't have him any other way.
🐻 Fozzie Bear: Wakah Wakah (4020808)
Every show needs a comedian.
Whether or not the audience appreciates the jokes is, of course, another matter entirely.
Our beloved Fozzie is captured mid-performance, microphone in hand, delivering what we can only assume is another gloriously terrible punchline.
His expressive face, bright colouring and characteristic pose make him instantly recognisable.
Waka waka!
🎭 Statler and Waldorf: Critical Curmudgeons (4020802)
And finally, the two gentlemen who have never paid a compliment when a perfectly good insult would do.
Perched in their beautifully detailed theatre box, Statler and Waldorf are ready to offer their usual running commentary on the proceedings.
The craftsmanship of this piece is particularly impressive. Their individual expressions are wonderfully captured, while the ornate theatre box adds a lovely sense of authenticity.
We suspect they'd have something to say about this blog, too.
And it probably wouldn't be complimentary.
The Finishing Touch: The Original Muppet Show Display
As wonderful as these individual figurines are, there's something that takes this collection to an entirely different level.

With its rich red curtains, colourful decorative border and iconic Muppet Show sign, this purpose-designed backdrop transforms the individual figurines into a complete theatrical scene.
Suddenly, they're not simply beautiful collectables sitting on a shelf.
They're performing.
Kermit has his stage. Animal has his drums. Miss Piggy has her spotlight. Fozzie has his audience.
And naturally, Statler and Waldorf have the best seats in the house.
It's a display that really needs to be seen together to appreciate its full charm.

A Little Collector's Knowledge: Where Are Gonzo and Camilla?
Now, here's something interesting that we think fellow collectors will appreciate.
While researching this collection, we've come across other Muppet ensembles advertised for sale that include Gonzo and Camilla.
And although Gonzo and Camilla are, of course, much-loved members of the wider Muppet family, there's an important distinction to make.
Gonzo and Camilla are not part of this original five-figurine Muppet Show release.
The correct character pieces for this particular ensemble are:

That's not to say that Gonzo and Camilla aren't wonderful collectables in their own right. They absolutely are!
But adding them to this ensemble, particularly as a substitute for one of the original pieces, doesn't make it the correct original collection.
And for collectors, those little details matter.
